On the
Trail...
Well, we left the trailhead at Lake Edison
(midway between Yosemite and Kings Canyon National Parks, about 50
miles east of Fresno). And... the trail's real sandy, like walking on
the beach... for three miles, uphill... at 8000' elevation. I
discovered I'm out of shape.

Jack discovers a meadow. Gee, it sure
looks pretty, but you really can't see the swarming
mosquitos. The REI Jungle Juice is brought out for the first
time... and certainly not the last time.
