Launceston and Meander Falls, Tasmania

A long day hike at Meander Falls, Tasmania.

Though we were staying two nights in Launceston, we decided to take advantage of the warm sunny weather and do a six hour hike to Meander Falls, about 80km west of Launceston.  The 9km hike was fairly strenous, with 500m of elevation gain, but went through varied scenery--it started out hiking through wet forest, then through subalpine forest, across a scree field, and back down to the car park.

We finished the day with noodles from a shop in Monty's Food Court, then went to see A Beautiful Mind at the cinema.
